The Yuchai YC16VC Marine Auxiliary Engine is a V-type marine diesel engine developed from the mature and proven 16VC platform. Yuchai designed the YC16VC marine auxiliary engine specifically for marine generator sets in the 1600–2000 kW power range. By integrating advanced diesel engine technologies from Germany, the United States, and Japan, and by following modern European engine development processes, the engine delivers stable performance, high efficiency, and long-term reliability for demanding marine power applications.

Energy Saving and Environmental Protection

The Yuchai YC16VC marine auxiliary engine adopts a new-generation electronically controlled unit pump fuel system to improve fuel efficiency. In addition, it combines advanced design concepts with high- and low-temperature water cooling technology, turbocharging with intercooling, and a four-valve cylinder head design. As a result, the engine meets IMO Tier II emission requirements while reducing fuel consumption and exhaust emissions during continuous operation.

Compact Structure

The engine features a compact structure with small overall dimensions and optimized weight. Therefore, installation and maintenance become easier in marine engine rooms with limited space. Furthermore, the camshaft integrates fuel injection and valve actuation into a single design, which ensures a compact layout and efficient use of space.

High Reliability

Yuchai equips the YC16VC marine auxiliary engine with a high-strength cylinder block, a forged alloy steel crankshaft, and alloy steel connecting rods. Consequently, this robust configuration reduces impact loads on the main bearings and ensures reliable, long-term operation under continuous high-load conditions.

The YC16VC marine auxiliary engine combines electronically controlled unit pump technology with an innovative four-turbocharger parallel configuration. The intake manifolds are arranged on both sides of the engine to improve service accessibility. Meanwhile, the one-cylinder-one-head design uses a mature cylinder head platform proven through years of application. In addition, a proprietary turning gear mechanism further simplifies maintenance and improves overall service efficiency.
