The SDEC SC38W auxiliary engine follows the GPDP process of SAIC and uses an integrated layout. Its high-strength block, strong cylinder head, and forged crankshaft give the engine long life, and the average overhaul interval reaches more than 20,000 hours.

Strong Power with Good Fuel Use

The engine uses a four-valve layout and a twin-turbo setup to bring in more air and raise intake efficiency. The electronic unit pump system works with the ECU and injectors to improve burning and emissions. As a result, the engine runs smooth, reacts fast to sudden load changes, and boosts power by about ten percent. With peak torque up to 6400 N·m and a flat fuel curve in daily work, it keeps low fuel use, reaching as low as 190 g/kW·h.

In addition, many options are available, such as different start methods, power take-off points, seawater pumps with various flow rates, anti-corrosion cooling systems, and an electric pre-supply fuel pump.
