Developed strictly under SAIC Motor’s GPDP process, the SC38W marine engine uses an integrated engine design that enhances durability and structural strength. It features a high-strength block and cylinder head, combined with a forged-steel crankshaft engineered for long service life. As a result, the engine achieves an average overhaul interval of more than 20,000 hours, which supports long-term stability in continuous marine operation.

Strong Power and Good Fuel Economy

With a four-valve configuration and a dual-turbocharging system, the engine keeps air intake efficient across a wide speed range. The electronically controlled unit pump works in coordination with the ECU and injectors, improving combustion quality and reducing emissions. The engine runs smoothly, responds quickly to sudden load changes, and improves power output by about 10%. Maximum torque reaches 6400 N·m, and under common operating conditions the engine maintains low fuel consumption and high torque. Its minimum fuel consumption can reach 190 g/kW·h, helping users reduce overall operating costs.

Strong Adaptability and Flexible Configuration

Users can choose suitable versions for different vessel operating conditions. The 33W version fits high-speed applications, while the 38W version is designed for medium- and low-speed conditions. Optional configurations include various starting methods, power output interfaces, seawater pumps with different flow rates, corrosion-resistant cooling systems, and electric pre-supply fuel pumps. These choices allow operators to match the engine to diverse marine environments.
