Strong and Responsive Output

The 8WH28 engine delivers high power for large ships. Each cylinder can reach 450 kW, and the engine runs with a higher explosion pressure than many similar models. A twin-turbo system raises low-speed response and gives about 30 percent more low-speed torque. Even at half the rated speed, it can reach around 70 percent of rated torque. Because of this, ships gain stronger push, faster response, and smoother control in daily work.

Energy Saving and Cleaner Operation

The engine uses high-pressure fuel injection and an efficient air path to keep fuel use low, with a rate near 180 g/kW·h. A three-ring piston and scraper ring cut lube oil use to about 0.5 g/kW·h. The 8WH28 marine engine meets IMO Tier II and China Stage II rules, so ships can run cleaner without losing power.

Easy Daily Maintenance

A modular layout and mature structure make service simple. The three-section connecting rod lowers the working height, so lifting a cylinder becomes easier. A touch-screen control panel gives clear data, helping crews handle daily use and maintenance with less effort.
