Developed to meet high-load and long-hour marine operating requirements, the Yuchai YC6TD Marine Auxiliary Engine combines rigorous validation standards with advanced fuel and air management technologies. It delivers reliable auxiliary power with strong durability, excellent fuel economy, and improved onboard comfort, making it a dependable solution for commercial vessels and fishing boats.
Reliable and Durable
During product development, the Yuchai YC6TD follows strict mechanical development and validation standards. The engine has completed over 20,000 hours of durability bench testing, proving its long-term reliability. The cylinder block uses high-strength alloy cast iron to enhance structural rigidity, while the integral forged steel crankshaft improves fatigue strength and wear resistance. A single-cylinder single-head design simplifies maintenance, and evenly distributed cylinder head bolts ensure uniform load distribution. In addition, the valve train adopts a high-mounted camshaft layout with short, thick pushrods and roller lifters, further improving operational reliability.
Fuel Efficient and Cost Saving
Four-valve technology greatly increases intake and exhaust flow area, enabling more uniform fuel atomization and more complete combustion. The combination of turbocharging, intercooling, and an electronically controlled unit pump ensures precise fuel delivery, allowing maximum energy release from every drop of fuel. Holset or LiXin turbochargers provide a wide economic operating range. Mechanical losses are reduced by more than 15%, pumping losses are minimized, and overall fuel consumption decreases accordingly. Compared with engines of the same power level, fuel consumption is reduced by 10–15%.
Safe and Comfortable Operation
The four-valve configuration effectively reduces intake and exhaust noise. A rear-mounted gear train combined with advanced point-line meshing gear technology lowers mechanical transmission noise. As a result, the engine operates more smoothly and quietly, creating a safer and more comfortable engine room environment for long-term marine operation.
